Getting Organized

Advance Care Planning is a process that helps you maintain your dignity and values in case you have to make difficult medical treatment decisions. It can also help you appoint a spokesperson in case you aren’t able to make decisions for yourself.

4 End-of-Life Documents You Need to Have

These documents are specific to the state of residence. Most can be found for free by searching for the state name and the title or description of the document. Here are links to examples of the documents for the State of Virginia.

Letting Go

We come into this world with no possessions and we can’t take anything with us. Use the Yoga practice of non-attachment to let go of your material attachments. Downsize your household possessions while you have the health do take charge of your own environment. Make life easy for those who may have to clean up and distribute what you’ve left behind.

Aparigraha is the last Yama in Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga. It often translates to non-greed and nonattachment. The yamas are essentially moral guidelines by which to live with regard to our relationship with ourselves and the world around us.
